A change in perception has led many in the financial services industry to embrace the cloud. Many companies are more comfortable with having their data stored on a cloud, especially since it offers them many of the same benefits it offers those in the health care industry. Small businesses in this industry, such as credit unions, have realized that the cloud allows them to protect their data and meet the needs of their clients at much lower costs than traditional infrastructures. Another major benefit of cloud technology is disaster recovery: valuable financial data is protected from disasters because data is stored off-site.
Legal Industry
Attorneys in a wide variety of practices can benefit from employing cloud technology. Flexible access is a main draw for many in the legal field. Cloud solutions allow them to access the data they need from anywhere: home, office or the courthouse. It also allows attorneys to stay up-to-date with the latest legal information since data is centralized. And since legal information is highly sensitive, the fact that the cloud allows for increased security is a huge draw. According to Olivier Tallieu, “A cloud-based document management system always stays up to date and thus does away with liability.”
Government Sectors
Another sector that has seen the benefits of cloud technology is the government.
